Model Assurance is C8's independent library of rules-based indices: bank quantitative investment strategies, annuity crediting indices and structured-note underlyings, each rebuilt by C8 from its public rulebook and checked against the levels the sponsor publishes. This page covers what it answers, how to get started, and how to reach us.
For every index in the library:
Every figure states its source and window: the sponsor's published index, C8's rebuild, SPY, AGG or a 60/40 book. Published levels before an index's live date are the sponsor's own hypothetical backtest, and the answers say so. Model Assurance is information only: it gives no recommendation to buy, sell or hold, no forecast and no view on suitability, and nothing it shows is an offer of any product.
| Index | Sponsor | Reproduction |
|---|---|---|
| Goldman Sachs Momentum Builder Multi-Asset 5 (GSMBMA5) | Goldman Sachs | Reproduced |
| RBC US Equity 90% Strike Put Write (RBCUS90P) | RBC | Reproduced |
| UBS Dynamic Risk Allocation 5% USD (CSEADR5U) | UBS (ex Credit Suisse) | Reproduced |
| FIVE Pension Strategy (VPENSION) | Munich Re / FIVE | Partly reproduced |
| HSBC Systematic Alpha 1 (HSIESA1I) | HSBC | Not reproducible from public information |
Ask “Which indices are in the Model Assurance library?” for the current list with each index's tie-out and grade.
https://api.c8-technologies.com/assurance/mcp.The address is the same for every customer and is not a secret; there is no key to copy.
With Allocator Agent connected as well, you can test an index inside your own portfolio: ask for the index's levels and then for a portfolio built or compared with them, for example “Add 10% of CSEADR5U to my 60/40 and compare it with risk parity”.
Details: Model Assurance privacy notice.
Is a grade a forecast? No. The calibration grade describes how robust the published parameter setting was across the parameter grid over the history. It says nothing about future returns.
Why does an index say it cannot be reproduced? Some indices depend on inputs that are not public, such as a sponsor's proprietary sub-indices. The library says so, shows how far a rebuild from the public parts gets, and does not grade what it cannot reproduce.
Why compare an excess-return index with SPY and AGG? The answers flag it: most bank indices are excess return, so their return excludes cash, while SPY and AGG are total-return prices.
How current is the library? Every answer gives the library's as-of date. C8 refreshes the library as sponsors publish new levels.
Can you add an index? Tell us which one. The library covers indices with a public rulebook and published levels.
